The Miele s548i "Aluminium" is a special machine within the 500
series introduced to commemorate Miele's 75 years of producing
superior vacuum cleaners. It is equipped with the direct connect,
telescoping electrical wands and SEB 217-2 power nozzle. All of the
electrical connections are integrated into the wand and hose leaving
no external or visible wires.
The machine comes with a complimentary handheld turbobrush and the
HEPA filter is included as well. Because the control for the power
nozzle is located in the hose handle, one can move from carpet to
bare floor by simply turning off the power nozzle, allowing it to
clean bare floors at the flip of a switch. Additionally, the softer
"parquet" floor tool comes with the machine for use on more delicate
flooring surfaces. A dusting brush, crevice and upholstery tools store
under the push button tool lid.
Because the hose and wheels all rotate a full 360 degrees the vacuum
moves easily in any direction, without tipping over, and the wheels
are a soft rubber so they will not mark floors. The cordwinder has an
added feature known as "auto-reverse". When the user activates the
"auto-reverse" function, the cord releases from the machine as it is
pulled away from the outlet and rewinds back as the vacuum returns.
The result is no excess cord on the floor while vacuuming.
A digital readout displays the several power settings, which are
changed with the touch of a button. Its "automatic" setting on the
power control allows the machine to "sense" the appropriate level of
suction and automatically adjust itself accordingly.
